Let’s add some details

While waiting for an Op Session I must find something to do. So let’s go through the parts drawer and see what we can find.

We start with soap box derby racers.

Got to have and ice cream truck. I can hear the music now.

Then there is the hotdog stand near the train station.

Last but no least is the “Jill Poke”. I had no clue what this was until asked about it. I was lucky enough to find one on eBay.

Trees

Time to work off layout while waiting for the op session. Taday is tree day. It will take tons of trees to catch up with the areas modeled.

Paper Mill work

The paper mill is getting a lot of attention and it just so happens that I must get ready for an Op Session so I must get trains into there position for the start.

There are definite areas they need improving. I used a foam sheet to simulate parking areas and that didn’t do very good for me.

In the meantime the mill is looking much better than before.

Last area of upper level to get scenery

The paper mill is the last area to get scenery on the upper level. I will start by repairing and finishing building parts as needed.

When the buildings get finished they are put in place and details are addded.

I tried doing a pano while walking, so the facia and ceiling is kind of iffy. The actual mountains look fine.

The scenery season has started

The scenery season has started. A little late but it’s time to make a mess. First on the list was to make the rock cut above Brunswick look better. Originally pieces came from my old layout and I had to patch the pieces together.

So today I tried molds and eventually went to throwing down some hydrocal and carving by hand. I’m not so sure how good my hand carving was, but it will do.

The scene is not finished, but I’m happy enough so I don’t have to tear out the whole and start over.
i wish I had taken a before picture.
